Listening is a form of love, and as we befriend the Divine we can express our love through an act of generous attention. We listen to God when we listen to other people with care and grace. We listen to God by sitting with the sacred stories and allowing them to sink in a little further. We listen to God by attending to the desires and dreams—and sometimes the grief and sorrow—that well up from within. We listen by learning to be comfortable with silence.
