I subscribe to an online newsletter, “A Sacred Rebel,” that offers information on church technology and church social media strategies. It’s a great resource for me as I work with churches that are developing their “online presence.” The power of sharing God’s love through social media is undeniable…and it’s time we, as the church, embrace this new reality.
It is in this vein that I share the following article with you. “Mormon Church to Stop Going Door-To-Door, Will Recruit Online Instead.” Never, in my life, did I expect the Mormon Church to discontinue their “door to door” campaign….but they are….and their decision to do so is a direct result of social media and its power to reach more people, more effectively, with less effort.
