In the Christian tradition, today is Holy Tuesday, one day closer to what we observe as Good Friday, the day of crucifixion. Our Bible tells the stories of Jesus continuing to teach in Jerusalem. The crowds following Him continue to grow. The religious leaders continue to question and challenge His teachings. Jesus tells them, and all of us, “The more lowly your service to others, the greater you are. To be the greatest, be a servant. But those who think themselves great shall be disappointed and humbled; and those who humble themselves shall be exalted.” (Matthew 23:11) We are all servants to one another. Be kind today. Your kindness honors the teachings of Jesus and brings hope and peace to the world.
