In the Christian tradition, we celebrate today as Palm Sunday, the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a small, dirty and insignificant donkey. This day marks the beginning of Holy Week. Holy Week is a time to honor the sacrifice of Jesus’ life by death on the cross. He offered this sacrifice freely so that we can be forgiven of our sins and experience heaven and eternal life. This week of reflection reminds us trials and heartache can end in joy.
